TAS’ Place, a 501(c)(3) non-profit youth center serving the metro Atlanta area, seeks is to uplift, encourage and expand the opportunities of youth in particular, disadvantaged and At-Promise youth of all races ranging in ages 10-17.
TAS' Place is one of the few organizations that is delivering their leadership programs using Hip Hop messages and themes. Oh no, not Hip Hop! Yes, Hip Hop. It is our aim to show that Hip Hop is NOT the beast that everyone thinks it is and that it can be used as a motivational tool to engage our youth. Did you know that Hip Hop is being used to deliver HIV/AIDS awareness programs, conflict management and most recently, violence prevention strategies. So why not use it to develop our youth leaders. After all, aren't you tired of the same-o, same-o?
Our youth have the potential to soar to unlimited heights but they lack the motivation to engage in the subject matter and are more often than not, bored with the teaching methods that are currently being used today.
